A New Face and a New Post!!

Sorry it's so long!
I have been putting this off for way to long and have received many (some nice some not so nice) inquires as to when I am going to post again. :) First off, let me just explain one thing. This pregnancy has zapped every ounce of my patience especially when it comes to things of a technical nature. I have had a hard time, obviously, getting myself to sit down and spend the time that it takes to post a blog on my parents computer (they don't have dial-up but they may as well have for how slow it is) and we just barely got the Internet working on our own computer again.
Let's see, how do I catch you up on the past 3 mths (has it really been that long?)of our lives. We have been extremely busy as many of you are during the summer.
Starting in May we have:
  • Celebrated several birthdays (family and friends),
  • Visited California for Weston's graduation,
  • Kept the roadways in Utah hot looking for a good job,
  • Been to several doctor's appt. for me and the girls,
  • Attended a couple of funerals,
  • A couple of baby and bridal showers
  • A couple of Family reunions. No camera=no pics.
  • A couple of holidays. Can you believe it, I forgot the camera for the Fourth of July!!! :(
  • Various get-togethers with friends(old and new) and family
I am sure that somewhere in this list I have forgotten something, but at the moment my brain is drawing a blank. Sorry that there are so many pictures, but what else would you expect from my 3 mth hiatus?!?

Sydney's and Macey's Birthdays.

While in California we visited Disneyland. We met up with the Palmer's and my little brother Matt came with us(he is still single if any of you have single siblings). We had a really good time except that it rained the whole day. The girls didn't seem to mind, they enjoyed their cotton candy as we waited out the worst of it.

Well, if finally came GRADUATION!! Congratulations babe!!

We met up with our friends (from school) the Palmer's in Cedar City, UT on one of our various trips. The kids had a blast at the park and then finished the visit with lunch. It was great to see them. Sydney still asks me when we are going to see Blake and Brooklyn again.

My friend Trenda and I have been fortunate enough to be able to get together a couple of times each month this summer. This is the only picture that I could find from all of our outings. I guess I had need to be better about bringing my camera. Most of the time I am lucky to make it out the door with both girls. I just blame it on the pregnancy.:)

We have found some great new friends (The Nielson's) and have enjoyed spending time with them and getting to know them better. They have two boys, Drew and Clark, that are about the same ages as my girls. They actually play pretty well together for the most part.

The following are just some various pictures from throughout the summer.

PINK or BLUE
what will it be?????

I am sorry that it has taken me this long to post what we are having. We found out last wed, but then had a trip planned for the weekend and the first of this week has been slightly crazy. Anyway, for those of you have patiently been waiting, we are having.... drum roll please..... another girl! We were a little disappointed at first, but that wears off pretty quick. Sydney was the one that was the most disappointed. She went with me to my appointment and when the lady said that it was a sister she let her shoulders slump and gave a great big sigh and said "I wanted a baby boy." My mom was there and she talked to her throughout the rest of the appointment about how fun it would be to teach her how to read, how to play with the food, and teach her the alphabet etc. By the end she was okay with it. She still every once in a while will say that she wants a baby brother. It is kind of funny, I know so many people and have talked to several others that are having boys. I thought that just maybe we would have hit a streak of boys and get lucky. Maybe next time.

Easter...

A couple of weeks before Easter I went to Sears and had the girls pictures taken. The lady taking the pictures did a good job of getting cute smiles from the girls, but that was about all that she did. Very few pictures were centered and in half the shots she cut Sydney's head in half. When I got home and showed Weston he was just a little miffed. He said "Why don't we just buy a camera and take them ourselves." He is such a perfectionist, I have no doubts that his would be better than most professionals. Here are some of the best pictures. We were actually able to get some really cute pictures of them when we started cropping the different photos.

We spent Easter weekend in Richfield with Weston's family. I like a dumb nut forgot to take still shots of anything. At least I remembered the video camera. We had a really good time. Especially Sydney who absolutely loved playing with her cousins. We did all of the usual things, Easter Egg Hunt on Sat.(with Weston's entire family- aunts, uncles, cousins etc. quite the affair), dying easter eggs and plenty of yummy food. Gotta love the food. I think that I gained 5 lbs in that weekend alone.

For Carrie

Many of you know Carrie and are probably very familiar with her daughters outfits. Just recently Sydney has wanted to pick out her own clothes. She usually does okay. This particular days outfit just reminded me of some of the outfits that Bee picks out for herself. When I told Sydney that it didn't really match, she said "Mom it sure does, it's all stripes." How do you argue with that? We weren't going anywhere so I just let her wear it. Sometimes is just isn't worth the fight.

Binky, binky I want my binky!

(This is an old picture)

Since our last move, Macey has been super attached to her binky. If any little thing upsets her she will walk around the house looking for her binky with her finger in her mouth (her sign for binky), saying binky, binky. Well, the other day we were trying to get out of the house for a short walk. While we were getting ready, Macey found one of her binky's and started sucking on it. I told her that she couldn't bring it with us, and that really set her off. I gave her a choice, she could stay home by herself with her binky or she could leave it home and come outside with Sydney and me. She chose to come outside but when I took her binky she started crying even harder. I put her down and gave her the binky and then put my coat on and told her good-bye. She came up the stairs crying and when she got to the top she looked at me and pulled her binky out of her mouth and started putting it in her pocket and saying "my pocket, my pocket". She is such a smart girl. I didn't really know what to say to her. I knew that if I let her take her binky, even in her pocket that I would never win the binky war. She didn't end up bringing it with us and she was fine once we got outside, but I am constantly amazed at how smart this girl is. She has an amazing mind for problem solving.

Nobody Faint!

I know, I know, I have been the worlds biggest blog slacker. I just can't seem to pull myself together. The last couple of months have been a blur to me. We have moved AGAIN!! This time we are back with my mom and dad. Weston's last rotation was originally set for Arizona but we were able to get it changed to a site in Sandy, UT. This has been a major blessing for me. Before that, we were having issues with our Internet and so for the last part of January and most of Feb I couldn't even get on to check let alone post. I will admit that it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway. And, I currently can't post any pictures until I buy something that makes my camera compatible with my parents computer. So, much to every ones surprise, we are still alive and I am now re-entering the blogging world.
As for updates, I took Macey to her 18 mth check-up (@20 mths) and they told me.... she is a little on the petite side. Ya think? She only weighed 22 lbs (with clothes) and was 28 in tall. I am not the least bit worried, the girl eats all day long. I have a brother that lives at home and between him and my dad eating at different times, she probably eats 10 meals a day. She is starting to talk a lot more and she has learned how to scowl and has some of the dirtiest looks I have ever seen on a toddler. She brings new meaning to the phrase "If looks could kill." She can be a lot of fun though. She loves to dance and if I can get it, my sister has a great video of her dancing. I will try and post it.
Sydney has been fascinated with shadows. Before it got cold we went outside and took a bunch of pictures of our shadows doing different things (sorry, no pictures yet). Since then she has discovered that she can make all kinds of shadows in the dark with a flashlight. We frequently have "Dance parties in the dark" I don't know where the dance part came from, we don't dance. She turns off all of the lights and then gets her flashlight and watches all of the shadows that she can make. Kids have great imaginations don't they!?!
Weston's last rotation is with an opthamologist and so far he is enjoying it and getting a taste of a different aspect to Optometry. We will however be very glad when this rotation is over and we can actually start making money, maybe. Well, until next time, happy blogging.

This is what happens at our house when mom is sick!

VIEWERS BEWARE:GRAPHIC MATERIAL

The Girls run wild and free sporting whatever clothes I happened to run across, hair not done and looking like a bunch of heathens.
The house looks like a tornado has blown through and the worst part,
I lay right there on the couch and watched it all happen! I don't know what the deal is this winter, whether it is just adjusting to a new climate or our year to get sick, but our family (me included, a rarity) cannot seem to stave off any illness that comes our way.

Catching up...

The month of December sure seems to fly right by doesn't it. Weston and I spent some time in California (he took a test and I played) and after that, I am not sure where the time went. Here are some of the activities that kept us hopping this month:

I had just bought a fake tree for this year when my mother-in-law called and asked us if we wanted a real tree. They had been our cutting one for them and got one for us as well. I love real trees so I took the fake one back the very next day. She was even kind enough to bring us some decorations (mine were in Provo). We didn't get very many on the tree, what you see is about all that we did, because Macey just couldn't leave them alone. She even went so far as to suck all of the green off of one of the balls. That child, you would think that she has just about grown out of that stage!!
We went to a Christmas Tree Festival. It was really fun and the girls loved it. They had all kinds of activities like cookie decorating, story time, real princesses and Santa was even there, but neither of my girls wanted to sit on his lap. The gladly took the candy cane he offered though.

Our next venture with Santa came a couple of days later at the Jensen family Christmas party (Weston's side). Sydney was okay with it, but Macey still was a little hesitant. It was fun, he brought a gift for all of the little kids and even for some bigger ones too.

We spent a couple of days before Christmas with my parents and the girls got to open their Gifts from Grandma&Grandpa Huff. They got spoiled. Both of them received little people sets and had a blast.Christmas morning was spent at Weston's parents. Sydney got everything she asked for, more littlest pet shop stuff and a baby for Macey so that she could leave hers alone.
Weston's mom always has the table covered in all kinds of good treats to snack on throughout the day. We just happened to look over and catch Macey as she prepared to help herself. You can't see it very good, but she has got the biggest smile on her face.

I can safely say that we had a successful holiday season. I hope that all of you were spoiled as rotten as we were.

I finally did it

Well, I finally got around to changing my template and after being warned several times by several people about saving links, I didn't do it and had to put everyone in again. So, if you use to be there and you notice that your name is not there anymore, please let me know. I think that I got everyone, but the way my brain works, I may have missed someone. Sorry if you are that person. I like the new look, but did anyone have a problem with their computer running a little slower after they changed their template?

Happy Thanksgiving...I think!?!

We actually had a really good Thanksgiving, just interlaced with a couple of unpleasant moments. The girls and I rode home with my parents on Sunday Nov 18 (after they brought my washer/dryer to Cedar City) so that we could get together with a few of the old gang from the OC. The first upset came on Monday evening when I phoned Weston so that the girls could say goodnight. He informed me that there had been some unpleasant developments in the negotiations for a practice that we are trying to buy. Talk about ruining a vacation. Here we are 6 mths from graduation, thinking that we are going to have a job and a pretty decent one at that and now it is looking like it has turned South quickly. It is still up in the air as far as if it is a lost cause or not. The get together was much needed for me so that I could vent for a minute and then forget my troubles. We should do it again.
We had a great Thanksgiving day and spent it in similar fashion to many of you, family, food, fun and last but definitely not least, sleep. The real trouble started around 3:50 am when my dear sweet Sydney came in complaining of a stomach ache. I swear if I open my mouth and say something, it is going to come back and bite me. My sister-in-law and I were discussing sick kids and I said how fortunate I was that neither one of my girls had ever really had the flu or thrown-up. Well, That is exactly what happened. Lucky for me it was just once but what went down as milk came back up as cottage cheese all over my mother's newly cleaned carpets. Sorry mom! And sorry for the description. Weston wasn't feeling well either but at least he didn't throw-up. Despite all of this we braved the Black Friday rushes and were able to pretty much finish our Christmas shopping for the girls. We had a great time, and loved seeing all of the family, but I sure love being back home in our own little apartment.

We have a COPYCAT

Macey has turned into a this major copycat. She does everything that her sister does. It doesn't matter what Sydney is doing she thinks that she is just as big and can do it to. It is quite funny to watch sometimes and very frustrating other times Like in the last picture where she wants to climb the tree, but doesn't want any help. If any of you remember an earlier post, Macey has learned the word no and can use it quite forcefully at times.

I took this picture of Sydney first. Macey wanted nothing to do with pictures until Sydney decided that she wanted to do some of her posing. She really likes to do that for her pictures now. Macey ran right over to the bush and put her hands up on her cheeks. she even runs over to check out her picture when it is done just like her sister.

A new version...

The other night after Weston got home from work, we decided that we would just grab a burger and then go out to Wal-mart for a little christmas research. All that Sydney will tell us that she wants is more, more, more littlest pet shops. Especially the bee. Anyway, we were sitting at dinner and Sydney was singing to herself I asked her what she was singing and she told me that she was singing Cinderella. These are the words that came out of her mouth "sing, sing night in jail. Sing, sing night in jail ahhh, ahhh, ahhh..." Weston and I busted up laughing. It works I guess, she is a servant in her own home. I just thought I would share. Kids can say the funniest things. The picture doesn't go with anything, I just thought that it was a cute one of her.

Someone turned 30

I am getting caught up on all of the things that I had planned to post but that got set aside until after we moved. Weston had his 30th birthday on Oct. 25. I surprised him by getting a few of our friends together and going to dinner. I went to the resturant (Islands) a few minutes early and decorated the table just a bit and had little noise makers for everyone to blow when we walked up. Of course I forgot my camera and so I don't have any pictures. I did get some pictures of the girls enjoying his balloons when we got home. They used the big 30 as a small trampoline.

The following sunday we had a few friends over for cake and ice cream. I was able to get a shot of all of the kids eating in our kitchen. we had so much going on around this time and we are grateful that our friends were willing to take time to come and celebrate with us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!

Last Week in California

I know that we have now been in Utah for almost two weeks, but I had a few spare minutes, rare I know, and I thought that I would give a little run down of our last weekend in California. Weston's parents, his sister and her family and his youngest brother all came out late Wed. night (they came to help us move). Thurs. morning we went to Disneyland and spent the entire day there. The girls had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa and their cousins. Sydney absolutely loves her cousin Kyson and he is so good to humor her.

The girls with Grandpa Barney just inside the gates.

This is Weston's older sister Stacy and her husband Brad. Their boys are L to R Drake, Daxton, and Kyson.

Weston's parents and his youngest brother Jason.

Friday morning we spent packing and then getting the girls ready to go to the annual trick or treating at Weston's school. Sydney was so excited to be Sleeping Beauty and she even got to put on makeup. Watch out boys, here she comes. Macey was a care bear and could have cared less what she was as long as she got lots of candy. Getting her to let go of that pumpkin was murder.

I know that many of you have already seen these pictures several times, but humor me. We have lots of family and friends that have not. It is amazing that all of us were able to get at least one picture where all of the kids are looking in the same general direction.

Sydney was thrilled to see Brooklyn as a fellow princess. We would like to thank her for letting Sydney use her Sleeping Beauty crown. I couldn't get it to stay on her head.Friday night was our church's Trunk or treat. For those of you who don't know what that is, everyone comes to the church and decorates the trunk or their cars and then the kids get to come trick or treating to the various cars. It was great Sydney went around with her Grandpa and Brooklyn and Blake she had a really good time.

Saturday night Weston's parents were kind enough to watch the girls so that we could go to the annual Adult halloween party at Weston's school. I don't have any pictures because Wes and I were really late and we didn't even dress up. We had costumes planned and everything, but we had been packing the trailer that day and it took longer than anticipated. Our friends Matt and Lindsay Palmer were boxes and we were going to be the UPS delivery guys and wheel them into the party. Better luck next year. Without Weston's great packing abilities, I am not sure that we would have fit everything. I wish that I had taken more pictures. It was like a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Weston's parents left on Sunday morning with all of our stuff and this is what we were left with.

A single air mattress with pillows for a couch And a cooler for a fridge. Thank you to the Larson's for that.
We used air mattresses for beds and that is about all that we had. Thank you to the Shelton's who let us use their air mattress. We found out that our air mattress doesn't hold air the first night that Weston's parents stayed with us. The girls were supposed to use it when they left so we are grateful that they were willing to let us use theirs for a few days. It was a very busy weekend, but it wasn't as bad as I anticipated it being. We had a good time with everyone and got to enjoy a couple of last get togethers with our friends. This was a long post sorry. I think that it has got to be the longest one that I have done.

Life in a Box

Macey has learned a few things in the last couple of months. One of these things is the many uses of boxes (Maybe it is all the moving). She loves boxes wether it's sitting in them, wearing them as shoes ( I missed the picture) or on her head as a hat, she just loves boxes. She will empty them all out only to turn around and put all of the stuff right back in.
She is learning so many things that it amazes me. She recently has started to talk a little bit and can say a few words. I am sure that only I can really tell what she is saying since I am around her the most, but none the less she is talking. She can say up, down, hello, thank you, please, all done, daddy, yes, more and something that sounds a lot like drink sortof. Her latest and most annoying word is no. She actually started out saying nope, but more recently has started using no with a bit more force and kindof growls the word as she draws out the "o" part like "NOOOOO!" I need to find my video camera (lost in the move) so that you all can hear what Weston calls the "growl".
I hope that this next little trick is a good omen for me. Right before we moved, Macey would run into the bathroom and stand in front of the toliet. She would stand there and pull at her diaper until it was removed and she was placed on the toliet. when she gets on she grunts a little and then says all done. She likes to help wipe and then flush the toliet. And she even helps put her diaper back on. She has actually gone a couple of times and the first time that she actually went a little #2 (and it was little) she was so proud of herself that she clapped her hands. It was really funny! So like I said, I am hoping that this means she is going to be easy to potty train.
Macey also enjoys climbing anything and everything and loves to have her hair done. She will come running into the bathroom and climbs right up onto the toliet when I call. Sometimes I think that it is just to beat Sydney but I'm not complaining. She has such a cute smile and is usually a pretty happy baby. She can be a stinker too, but we love her anyway.

Happy Birthday Mom!

I am late again, but better late than never right?!? I actually remembered her birthday a couple of days before but with the move and everything it has been kindof crazy and Sorry mom, you got lost in the craziness. I love my mom!! It always makes me feel bad when I hear people say that they don't have very good relationships with their mothers. Without my mom, I don't know what or where I would be today. She has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. She may disagree with that, but even as a teenager (I'm sure I didn't announce this) I thought of her as that. She has always been there for me even when I am not doing things the way that I should. She is a great listener and always helps me to try and see the other side. I can tell her things and I don't feel like she is judging me or anyone else. Even when I hear something like "I didn't raise you to act like that" Which I have heard a time or two shocking I know. :) I am proud to call her my mother and I love her very much! Happy Birthday! (Late) I tried to find a picture but the only recent one (my mom hates her picture taken) that I have won't download.

A New Hobby

Well, My friend Trenda's little girl always has cute bows in her hair. So I asked Trenda where she gets them and it turns out that she makes most of them herself. So, I had Trenda show me how she makes hers and I did a little bit of research on the internet and learned how to make a couple of others. I have a few more in the works, but my mom wanted to see a couple that I had made already so I decided to post them. My next one is going to be the curly Q looking ones. I think they call them "korker" something or other. I am actually surprised how easy and fun they are to make. My husband will laugh and claim that I have just traded in collecting scrapbook supplies to collecting ribbon and barrettes. There is alot of cute ribbon out there. Oh well, at least these can be used on a daily basis. I find myself planning outfits around bows or looking for specific ribbon to match other outfits. I can see where this could get out of hand. :) But, for the time being, I am having fun with it.
